As Osun Gubernatorial election campaigns gets heightened in the State against the September 22 elections, reports have it there have been extensive vandalism of APC gubernatorial candidate’s billboard in Iwo and Ile-Ife. These two cities are the home bases of the ADP and SDP gubernatorial candidates, Senator Iyiola Omisore and Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
In a swift reaction to the alleged vandalism, the Osun APC Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi appealed to the two candidates to check their overzealous supporters from engaging in such criminal activities before the vandals implicate them in crime.
According to Oyatomi, “Candidates who remain silent when their supporters are committing crime would be called upon to account because they will be seen as the beneficiaries of the vandalism of these rascals”.
He added, “Political leaders owe the Osun communities a duty to compel their supporters to be civilised and responsible before, during and after the elections”.
He however enjoined all security institutions to intervene before this reckless actions turn into violence.
Osun, Oyatomi told Safari News has been peaceful since the APC came to power 92 months ago and he assured the APC would do what is necessary through the law enforcement agencies to sustain that peace.
