FAKE LAWYER CONVICTED IN LAGOS

The trial of a fake lawyer, Olamide Oyekola Yunusa was recently concluded at the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court, Ikorodu, Lagos State. At the resumption of his trial today, Olamide changed his plea and pleaded guilty to the seven-count charge preferred against him.

He was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison. The sentence was imposed by the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Abimbola Oshodi-Makanjuola of Magistrate Court 4, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The convict had orchestrated a rouse where he created a public image purporting himself to have been called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

In a press release from the publicity secretary NBA Ikorodu branch, Mr Ademola, the imposter was successful in defrauding three unsuspecting victims of a significant amount of money prior to his arraignment on October 25, 2016 and had managed to practice at the court for over a year without being noticed.
