The Lagos member of the Governors’ Advisory Council, (GAC), Hon. (Dr.) Adekunle Waleeh Ipaye has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections, saying it was peaceful all the way in Ojokoro and other parts of Lagos State.
Ipaye who joined other well-meaningful Nigerians to exercise his franchise at his Unit 16 Ojokoro stated this shortly after casting his vote. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the process, saying that there was great improvement on previous exercises.
He however said that he was impressed with the large turnout of Ojokoro people in spite of the postponement of the election last Saturday by INEC.
According to Dr. Ipaye, “I have been voting here for ages but the turnout here today is totally unprecedented and some of you who have witnessed previous voting here will agree that it is almost three, four times higher. I’m equally touched with aged people and nursing mothers with small babies on their back who have come to vote, I am touched. I think so far, so good, INEC has proved to be up to the task”.
He also enjoined Lagosians, especially Ojokoro people to demonstrate a high level of maturity by coming out en masse to vote in the State Governor and Assembly member at the coming elections on March 9, 2019
