Almost seven years after the Teslim Balogun Stadium witnessed the mega 60th birthday anniversary of APC National Leader, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the stadium again today bubbled with a lot of activities as Lagos residents and the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) faithfuls thronged the venue for the 2019 Presidential campaign rally and welcoming the President, Muhammadu Buhari to the State of Excellence.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as thousands of people holding brooms sang and chanted APC slogans, while awaiting the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari for its 11th mega rally across the nation.

Pending the President’s arrival, supporters in APC attires and dresses waited as at 11:54a.m, with notable musicians, actors and actresses including upcoming acts who all delighted them with various musical renditions.

Nollywood personalities like Jide Kosoko, Funke Daramola and `Remi Surutu’ were also around, adding spice to the gathering. Market women, youths holding brooms and APC flags danced endlessly to rave songs being dished out by the DJ.

Others were Mr Tunde Braimoh (Kosofe) and Mr Bisi Yusuf (Alimosho 1) among other party stalwarts and faithfuls. Various achievements of the present administration were reeled out during the rally with a promise to take all the party programmes to the next level. In a rousing applaud, the congregation chanted “Sai Nigeria, Sai Buhari” as they all promise to pack vote for Buhari next Saturday. After an address by Gov. Ambode, Jagaban also addressed the mammoth crowd after which the President was welcomed to the podium to cap the campaign. The president finished up at about 3.30pm with the National Anthem and left the venue almost afterwards.

In the same development, the crowd thronging the Teslim Balogun Stadium, were held spellbound by a physically-challenged boy who displayed fascinating dance steps.

The boy, who simply identified himself as Muhammadu, had lost the use of both legs to the dreaded polio, danced so well and energetically to songs praising the APC presidential candidate in the Feb. 16 election.

Muhammadu’s act became difficult to ignore by those around, as many people soon formed a pool of crowd around him.

While dancing, he would stop to occasionally blow a small flute, chanting ‘Sai Buhari’ and would continue dancing to the rapturous applause of the enchanted crowd.

Unable to resist the allure and moved by how Muhammadu displayed his strong show of support for Buhari, despite his disability, some of the APC dignitaries and supporters left their seats to dance with him, showering him with some naira notes.

NAN reports had it that the 10-year-old boy was seen tucking some N1000 notes and smaller denominations in his pocket, while raising eight fingers up before quitting the scene.
