Gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, Dr. Bola Tajudeen Olaosebikan (OON) has charged members of the All Peoples’ Congress (APC) across the country to allow for a free and fair Congress which starts from today at Ward levels, especially in all the 193 wards in Kwara State.
According to the former Commissioner for Health in the State, the congress should not be seen as business as usual. “There should be internal democracy. Forms should not be hidden and party members should be allowed to vote to elect their preferred executives and delegates”.
Dr. Olaosebikan maintained that to achieve the desired change and progress in the state, the outcome of today’s ward Congress in Kwara State should give us pride and not shame.
He went on, “I heard there is now a FACTION IN KWARA APC. The faction is complaining of manipulation, lack of internal democracy and non-compliance with guidelines”.
Dr. Olaosebikan therefore enjoined members, leaders and stakeholders to look into the issues and allow Kwara to get the best executive at Ward, Local and State levels and not handpicked or imposed executive that will not augur well for the generality of the people of Kwara.
“LET THE APC 2018 BE A CONGRESS FOR TRUE CHANGE. Power should flow from the people. Kwara State deserves the best manpower at all levels from now. Let’s have true power shift from Ward, Local and State Levels”, Dr. Olaosebikan added.
