Executive members of the Tricycle Owners’ Association of Nigeria, TOAN, Ogun state chapter has visited Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and pioneer of Tricycle business otherwise known as ‘Keke Napep’ in Nigeria, at his Presidential Hilltop Residence, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The Union led by its chairman, Comrade Tirimisiyu Muraina, in his address, said the visit was necessary in recognition of Chief Obasanjo as the founder and the initiator of the tricycle business in Nigeria. He reiterated that the former Nigerian leader needs to be carried along in the welfare of the business, how it has fared including the various challenges facing the operation of the business.
According to Muraina, “We have come to show appreciations to Baba for being the brain behind Tricycle business in Nigeria, and to also receive fatherly blessings and to discuss our challenges and how best they could be surmounted, most especially in Ogun state where I chaired.
Speaking to Safari News, the TOAN Chairman said, “We have been able to discuss with Baba Obasanjo as a father, he had told us the necessary steps to take and we are going to follow Baba’s advise to actualize our dream for the success of Tricycle business in Ogun state.”
While appreciating Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for receiving the union in a father and children reception, Pastor Oludiran Philip and Comrade Kehinde Talubi also contributed when they said, “we are full of appreciation for having the audience of Chief Obasanjo and for being able to get fatherly advise and admonitions from him. We shall forever be grateful for the warm reception he granted us”:.
The visit was however rounded off when members of the Union had an exclusive photo session with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
