In furtherance of his bid to campaign for his second term in office, Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode today paid an unscheduled visit to Ojokoro community in Ifako/Ijaye local government area of the state. Welcoming the State’s No 1 citizen, Ojokoro LCDA Chairman Hamed Tijani was full of excitement as it was the very first eventful visitation of the Governor since he resumed office as the Chairman.
He later led the Governor, in company of his excos and legislators including the executives of Jankara/Orisumbare market with Babaloja General of Ojokoro, Akinloye to visit the palace of Oba of Ojokoro, HRM Taiwo Lambe.
At the palace, the Governor disembarked from his official bus from where he waved at the cheers of well-wishers and throngs of Jankara market operators. He however openly assured the Royal Highness of his gratitude for making good their promise when he sought their support when he began his campaign bid in Ojokoro during his first term bid.
He however added that he considered it right to, again visit Ojokoro and it environs to amass support for his second term in office. In his words, Oba Lambe assured the State Executive of his community’s support, “You have made us proud in your first term in office especially with the ABULE Egba flyover bridge and we are confident you will also address the issue of deplorable roads in Ojokoro and environs.n
The governor’s visit which lasted about 30 minutes also took swipes on motorcycle (Okada) operators in thecarea who had 100 of their motorcycles seized by officials of Lagos State Task Force, prior to the arrival of the governor.
