OJOKORO LCDA BOSS, MAKINDE, OTHERS CELEBRATE ASIWAJU TINUBU AT 65 * NAMES OJOKORO MAJOR ROAD AFTER HIM AS MARK OF HONOUR

In total display of allegiance and respect to Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu’s 65th birthday anniversary celebrations, market women and men in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, locked up their shops to customers as they celebrate the political icon in their community, Ojokoro with street renaming and commissioning of the council.

In commemoration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s birthday in Ojokoro LCDA, the Sole Administrator, Hon. Dr, Ipaye honoured the party leader when he rehabilitated the council secretariat road and renamed it, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road. This was commissioned with a Statue of Asiwaju Tinubu and renamed the rehabilitated Council secretariat as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu House.

In his welcome address Hon. Dr. Ipaye spoke greatly about Tinubu who he described as an astute politician, focus administrator and visionary leader with a strong mission.

He went on, “Asiwaju remains a father to me and many, celebrating him is just to show how much we are grateful for his immense contribution, support and leadership which can be felt across the nooks and crannies of our LCDA. We will continue on this path and continue to show loyalty to his course”.

Also commissioning various projects named after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the head of Market in Nigeria, Iya L’oja General, Chief (Mrs). Folashade Tinubu-Ojo said “am proud to be here to commission the road, statue and the rehabilitated council secretariat which were named after Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who clocks 65 recently, this is a well done job to the head of the council. I pray Ojokoro LCDA will continue to prosper and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will live to celebrate many more years on earth.”

Member representing Ifako Ijaye Federal Constituency Hon. Nurudeen Olaitan Akinwunmi described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the ‘Generalissimo’ and the tutor general of Nigeria politics.

Also speaking with journalists, member representing Ojokoro LCDA in Lagos state House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Makinde said “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the political brain box of Africa, he has succeeded in building a succession plan for Lagos and I am optimistic it will get across the federation, I wish him many successful years to come in sound health.”

Hon. Benjamin Olabinjo who said he is the one of the greatest beneficiaries of Asiwaju Tinubu having served two terms as the executive chairman of the local council with over 150 people employed during his tenure.

…Commissioning the road named after Tinubu

In his contribution, the Babaloja-General of the Orisumbare Jankara Market, Chief Akinloye took time to appreciate the political icon for doing Nigeria proud over the years by instilling enviable political structure in the system. Without him, there would probably have been no Nigerian politics. He is a national leader among national leaders. All the people he has made will forever be grateful to him and I know posterity will judge him. We, at Jankara market celebrate with him most heartily and we pray will continue to keep him in good health to the continual benefit to the nation and mankind.

The Ojokoro LCDA, being a creation of Asiwaju Tinubu among the 37 local councils during his tenure as governor of Lagos in 2003 is seen as one of the biggest local council secretariats in Lagos with his first elected chairman, Late Hon. Marufdeen Adefolabi (2004-2007) and Hon. Adeyemi Olabinjo (2008- 2014).

The council leadership have had the pioneer Executive Secretary, Late Hon. Adefolabi (September, 2003-February 2004), Hon. Hassan Ajeigbe AMJE (April 2007- August 2008), Hon. Fausat Hassan-Olajoku (2014-2016) and the current Sole Administrator, Hon. Dr. Adeleke W. Ipaye (2016- to date), the highly-friendly and resourceful leader of the council.

Ojokoro LCDA was carved out of Ifako Ijaye local government in 2003 as the council continues to share boundaries with Ifo Local government, Ogun State.
